What Else?

The Patriots opened their first season of 1960 with a game at Nickerson Field at Boston University. It was the first game in AFL history and the Patriots lost. They lost to the Broncos on the last play of the game.

That same season a fan won a game for the Patriots when he came out of the stands and knocked the winning pass out of the recieiver's hand and then disappeared back into the stands. You think I'm joking but this really happened and I have seen the grainy black and white footage and heard Billy Sullivan talk about it. The refs didn't see the guy and the Pats won the game thanks to some rowdy lunatic fan.
The play took place in the end zone and it appears that the qb mistook the fan for his receiver and fired the ball at the guy. The fan slapped the ball down and then faded back into the crowd which was close to the field.
