THE PLAGUE OF THE BACK UP BEEPERS
Let's do something about them. I will collect all the complaints and stories by everyone in this country and mail this collected works to every member of Congress, every Governor, and every mayor of every large city. This insanity must stop.
Start to do engine searches on the problem and you will find that every negative feeling I have is shared by many people. There is nothing wrong with hating back-up beepers. They do far mare harm than good. They attack the mental and physical health of millions of innocent Americans every day.
I could write about this for 40 hours straight and not even scratch the surface of the damage they do.
Make me the president of the stop the back-up beepers association – SBBA
I will fight for this righteous cause forever. I will travel to Washington and testify before Congress. When I do, we will have 20 beepers outside driving everyone insane inside. See how you legislators like it, you who have made this crazy laws and have done nothing to stop it.
It's snowing now as I write and my life is a living hell. Its non-stop back-up beepers from snow plows. All day and all night. I will not sleep tonight and I have to catch a plane in the morning. All the beauty of a New England snow is negated by the horrible back-up beepers.
As God is my witness, when I see on the weather that snow is on the way all I think is 'oooh noooo!' back-up beepers for 48 hours straight.
I used to love a beautiful snowstorm. It was nature at it's finest, it was romantic, and it brought out some positive feelings inside me. Now a snowstorm is just endless hell. I am hearing non-stop beeping as I type and the snow is still falling. Its only going to get worse after the snow stops. Much worse. I will have to play rock music very loud in every room in the house and the beepers will still penetrate the wall and the music.
Snow in new England has gone from a wonderful thing to a horrible thing. Lovely snow has gone from being God's beauty to the devil's torture. All for what? To theoretically save one life.
Collectively the mental health negatives more than outweigh the prevention of one accident.
And where is the absolute proof that these things save lives? I have not seen the proof.
Police officers have told me that they hate them on their vehicles because they warn suspects that they are approaching. So murderers get away to kill some more because the back-up beepers are warning them that the cops are coming.
I used to love the snow. Now I hate it. Its just a signal that the next two or three days (sometimes more! are nothing but endless tortuous back-up beepers at 100 decibels, penetrating every room.
The back-up beepers are the worst thing that has ever happened in my life. They stress out physical bodies, our heart systems, our central nervous systems, they prevent sleep, they prevent rest, they prevent joy, they prevent meditation, they deprive sick people of the ability to recuperate, they prevent reading, they put our children in a neurotic condition, they prevent the pursuit of happiness, and they do not save enough lives to justify their pompous existence.
I've heard the rebuttals. I've read them.
“Obviously you do not care about the welfare of our children.”
Preposterous. I do care. I'd like children to get a nap when they need one when they are sick.
Its important that I do not do all the writing on this. I'll just manage the thoughts of other Americans (and outside contributors as well.) One person can't make this an issue. But if we organize we can someday do something about this.
PLEASE write me. Tell me one or two horror stories about a time that was completely ruined by back-up beepers. Or tell me why I'm wrong. Hit me with your best shot. If SBBA can't handle the best arguments of the pro-back-up beeper people, nothing will get done.
All I know is that it's snowing, I'm playing the Tv as loud as I can, I won't get much reading done today, I won't enjoy this ostensibly beautiful snow, and not one life will be saved in my state today by this horror show.
Let's get together and get a book and mail to every legislator. Let's get lawyers who are on our side to get on the ball and get to work studying how we can take action. Lets get special groups to use their political clout to complain louder than others can. If you are physically challenged trying to raise an autistic child in a poor neighborhood, and recovering from being victimized by some other thing, use that political power to make your complaint count for more than mine can. Maybe a wounded veteran coming home with medals being tortured by back-up beepers can make the complaint count in ways that others cannot. Play your cards to help us all. This has to stop.
The Declaration of Independence guaranteed the pursuit of happiness. The back-up beepers deny happiness.
